Both my wife and son work there, and I have a lot of experience in the medical industry also. Came out of the military as a Nurse and Paramedic, among other skills.

That is a direct result of lowering the passing score, and we all know why they did that.

The Research Center declares that 370,000 (three hundred and seventy thousand!) Americans are KILLED by "medical misdiagnosis" and medical mistakes in this country EVERY YEAR!
ADDITIONALLY this study found that 420,000 (four hundred and twenty thousand!) Americans are PERMANENTLY DISABLED by "medical misdiagnosis and mistakes" EVERY YEAR!
I found this report on FOX-NEWS so unbelievable that I tried searching for the study to read it myself and clarify those numbers that were reported by the morning news show host (blonde gal with black hair roots).
No luck as yet on the search by me.
On that segment of the broadcast the FOX-NEWS "medical expert" (Doctor somebody) agreed with the astounding findings of the research center and then ADDED those incredible numbers DO NOT include the numbers of people who are just "harmed" every year by Doctor mistakes!
Now I realize Doctors are all human and can/will make mistakes BUT 370,000 dead and 420,000 permanently disabled is staggeringly UNACCEPTABLE.
And scary!
Do any of you CampFirers know of anyone kill't or permanently disabled by Doctors mistakes.
I have been here in this country 3/4 of a century now and know a LOT of people and to date I know of only one Doctors mistake. That involved my father and the "V. A. Medical system".
He was diagnosed with "lung cancer" and had one half of one lung removed in an "effort to save his life".
I was there at my fathers side when the V.A. Doctor/surgeon came in the next day and apologized to my father for removing half of one of his lungs as it was not cancerous it was full of plywood epoxy dust (he was a template maker and sanded old fashioned harmful plywood every day)!
Anyway he recovered and did not pursue monetary damages for his pain and suffering.
Back to my question about these staggering numbers - I can't believe that many Americans are killed/affected every year!
Your thoughts?

This isn’t anything new. Doctors kill on average 200k people a year via malpractice and nobody cares. But Fauci said to trust them so it's OK.

Conversely another profession kills on average 1500 people a year, the vast majority of which are trying to kill them, and it's 24/7 outrage.

Why? Because the media narrative and generally a retarded populace.

The Medical field has lost massive respect in the past 2-3 years for their failure to "First, Do NO HARM"... anyone that does not see this and concur is simply a fool.

Being in the medical field since the mid 70s, currently in our nation, most doctors are not practicing medicine anymore.
What they are doing, to be able to keep their license to practice and to keep their job, they are treating patients EXACTLY as they are being told to do, by the Insurance Industry and their accountants.

In the last 5 years, I have have lost 3 doctors I was seeing. ONE just retired and left medicine, early in life. The Second just went home to Jamaica, and left the USA behind. The third is in his mid 30s, he is leaving our local system, and is just going to go work for the insurance companies, so he no longer has to see patients. He is a Chinese immigrant and a very good doctor. He had a complaint filed against him, by one of these local drug addict welfare bums and the hospital has basically thrown the doctor under the bus instead of have his back.

Over Covid, my previous doctor was in his early 40s and was a military Trained P.A. Over all the Covid BS, our local hospital bought into for all that free government money, he left the hospital and went to work for the V.A. here in the Rogue Valley.

I read somewhere that fentanyl is killing around 100K people annually in the U.S., while the POTUS allows the southern border to remain a sieve. We know for a fact that the chemicals used to make fentanyl are made in China and then shipped to Mexico. Mexico is a failed state, as the Government is unable, or unwilling, or in partnership with the drug cartels that control that manufacture, distribution, and sales of the illegal recreational street drugs coming into the U.S. We have the most powerful military in the World, but not the will to use it to potentially save 100,000 lives annually.

How did the most powerful army do in Afghanistan after 20 years fighting goat herders? Now we should go to war with Mexico?

What is it with dumb boomers and endless wars?

How many ineffective booster shots did you get? Us pharmacutatical companies like Pfizer have killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of Americans before Covid. And now millions of people around the world are suffering side affects from the untested vaccine that never worked. The same members on here comparing about the medical establishment ran right out and got the untested tax and multiple boosters after Doctors that make mistakes and killed and injured patients told them too.

When I was in my twenties I had a doctor misdiagnose a case of mononucleosis and a week later my spleen ruptured. I could've died. He said I had some virus or something, just gave me medicine for the sores in my mouth. I even had co-workers tell me "man that sounds like you have mono", I had most of the classic symptoms. Some young quack at a doc-in-the-box when those first started becoming a thing.

Bad medicine, no matter who's doling it out (nurses, doctors, techs, etc.) is the third leading cause of death in this country. It's been that way for years.

My dad always said “some doctors got A’s and some got C’s” that’s why I go to the best doctors I can find at Stanford….. Biggest problem is people thinking healthcare is a “RIGHT “….. wrong, it’s a service that we pay for and the sooner people start demanding better value/service for their money the sooner it will improve…. Problem is giving it away for free, lowlifes, welfare people, and wetbacks take what they can get lowering the bar for everyone else.

Where did I say that we should go to war with Mexico? The military could improve border security and stay out of Mexico, but sending SEALs and DELTA operators into Mexico to surgically eliminate drug labs and the people who operate them wouldn't bother me in the least.

I've had all of the COVID shots, haven't been diagnoses with COVID, and haven't had any negative side effects. I took all of the shots after talking to a board certified infectious disease specialist. Physicians are human and can make mistakes, but I believe that the great majority of them attempt to make the best decisions for their patients with the information that they have at the time. The only people who I personally know who got sick with COVID had not been vaccinated, but I don't know all that many people well enough to hear about their medical decisions. My Mother was a physician, I grew up around physicians, and I worked with physicians when I was in healthcare management, so I tend to trust in the expertise of board certified physicians when it comes to medical matters.

That is SPOT ON Sir...

Same crap here.

We joined a "Concierge Practice" 2 years ago (@ $2,500 a year PLUS actual services)...

We are changing to a different "Concierge Practice" in a few weeks over the failing of "Concierge Practice Doc #1".

My previous Doc (best I ever had) bailed on the community over Insurance Admin bullchit and went to the VA. I still have her cell and stay in touch... i.e. she need construction/trades intel... and I need MD 2nd opinions.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Given our present population of about 332 million in the US, 370,000 misdiagnoses is about a 0.111 percent error rate across the masses. Yeah, I know not everyone visited an MD last year. I would have been front and center at my college graduations had I been able to score that well, and would've likely been offered some international scholarships for continuing education at the finest institutions.

Sad that such erros occur, but perfection will always be an impossible goal. Still, our life expectancy exceeds that of our grandparents. If one can do better, there might still be some med school openings this coming fall.

Been blessed with great health to date, and my rare visits to the docs have always gone well.

On shots: They did not kill or disable a single soul in our community. I've had three, and we can still get more if we want. We must have gotten the good stuff. One lady did pass out, but did the same with a previous tetanus shot too.

When I worked in healthcare management, our less proficient physicians often held secondary jobs at the local VA Hospital, as they weren't as in demand as our really good physicians. Since then, I have viewed the VA healthcare system as providing less than the best possible care because they can't afford to pay the best physicians to see their patients.

I worked as a paramedic at a small country hospital in central Georgia. We took patients on transfers to about a dozen hospitals across the state. We often went to the VA in Dublin, and the new VA on Clairmont Rd in Atlanta.

Hands down the VAs had the worst medical care of any hospital in the state. Many of the VA doctors were foreigners from Singapore or the Phillippines, who could barely speak English. They had a program that if a foreign doctor didn't have an American Medical License, he could be hired on a Temporary license at the VA. I mean, if you can't speak fluent English how can you pass the boards for the American License?

Ran in to a lot of half-ass or incompetent RNs and LPNs at the VAs.

Three very fine physicians have left our area to work for the VA. Hated to see them go, but our loss is the Vets’ gain. Good for them. As for foreign medical grads, I’m sure that, like all people, they vary. My experience with Pakistani FMG’s is overwhelmingly positive. I’d trust my life to many of them. Certainly others’ MMV.

That’s the gist of it - thanks.

All this doctor pile-on…. Sure there are shabby doctors out there, nurses, etc. Also imperfect people.

Consider the definition of what a professional is. Now consider that body of person’s is now made employees with no authority any longer, with titles perhaps (meaning, targets on their back) beholden to the whims of corporations/ non-profits whose sole goal is to enrich the c-suite, NOT strive for ever better care. This is accomplished by depressing wages, diluting actual doctor care with “providers”, increasing patient volume, negotiating inflated costs charged to insurance, facilitated by farcical “re-imaginings” of how to “better serve people”. The care experience results are awful, but the ad copy sells and somehow this wreck continues to auto-digest but still live.

Facilitating much is third-party payment, in my opinion. It’s analogous to how college tuition has sky-rocketed while the product continues to decline in value.

Anybody want to hear how last month, a motorcycle shop can take 12wks to assemble a bike bought off the sales floor, f-up a number of items along the way, make the buyer take three, 3hr round trips to pick up before actually given the bike, to receive a bike that didn’t run… now I see they over-charged me $500 to boot. Cashier/finance guy says, “What. I don’t see what the problem is.”

Why, all bicycle shops are crooks, i tell you!!! /sarcasm.

I'm not seeing an exodus of US patients to Mexico or Bolivia or Canada for some unexplainable reason.

Aren't prices for medical treatment and care much cheaper elsewhere?

The patients who called The Eyes of Texas Clinic did so willing while having many other choices except on weekends and after hours.
