I have a Winchester super shadow in 270 wsm.My question is if I upgrade the stock, how hard is it to put a hinged floorplate on this model? Can this be done? What additional parts are needed?Is this the same Win 70 action only in a blind mag stock?

This has probably been covered before but I coundn't find anything with the search.Any help would be great,thanks.

You need the correct stock, the trigger guard and bottom metal including the trapdoor and latch parts plus the correct magazine box which is deeper than the blind mag.. (or taller)..

For the most part, the whole shebang should be drop-in..

I did that 2 years ago on a super shadow. I bought a stock featherweight from someone on Ebay. I ordered the bottom metal and magazine from Winchester and it worked perfectly. Talk about a difference in appearance as well as handling. Browning is now selling winchester parts so I would contact them to get everything but the stock and keep your eyes peeled out for a stock on Ebay or here . It will fit together perfectly.

I used the original super shadow magazines on three of these conversions and haven't had any problems. Are you sure they are different? They may have different part #s, but mine work fine.
I did one in a standard stock, one in a laminate and one in a featherweight. Winchester has the number for their parts dept. on their web site. You can order bottom metal there.
