Yes another tire thread, don't see the other ones.

Thinking I'm about due for new tires on my '07 Quad Cab Diesel, dread the thought with the prices these days.

Can get KO2's from Discount tire for about 225.00

Other suggestions? Want an A/T tire, but the truck hasn't seen a winter in probably 8-10 years. Hauls a horse trailer from time to time, 26' goose neck and a bumper pull, along with my boat.

Don't put a many miles on it, maybe a 2-3k a year at tops.

Have Kumho AT51s on my Tacoma, been pretty happy with them and considering the newer AT52's, Falkens, Coopers, ?? Want to steer clear of Goodyear and Firestones.

Thanks

Mine's the same pickup but an '08. I just put on a set of Bridgestone - DUELER A/T REVO 3's. They seem to run very well although I don't have 1000 miles on them yet. Plus, if you get them from Costco, they currently have a $150 discount on them through 8/27. They do cost more than $225, though.

My 05 Dodge diesel quad 2500 came new with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail TA. I got over 80K with them, they are quiet, I pulled a 27' TT quite a bit. I saw no reason to try a different tire, so I put another set of the same on, no complaints.

Mine has the same thing on now. Believe they're discontinued, but really no complaints on them.

I bought the truck 12-13 years ago with I believe 67k on it, has 99k on it now. Doesn't see a whole lot of use, but two of the BF's are still in pretty good shape. Just worry about them due to the age.

Honestly don't really need to truck any longer, but couldn't afford to replace it if/when I do need it and it's worth probably more now than I paid for it back when I bought it.

Thanks for the recommendations, will give me something to look into.

Different question. Since Goodyear bought out Cooper, has the Cooper SST Max changed any in respect to side wall stiffness? Looking to replace my Firestone OEM's on my 2019 Chevy Silverado 250HD Duramax soon.

If you're only driving 3000 miles a year I'd have a hard time justifying an expensive tire. It will dry rot before the tread is 1/2 way worn out.

Hauling occasionally heavy loads I don't want a cheap tire. Just not worth saving a couple hundred vs a blow out.

I also keep 303 on my tires and trim and you wouldn't know it by looking at them but the current tires are at least 12 years old.

Not one crack on them.

The 303 protection does a great job. Use it a couple times a year on my tires and any rubber trim.

Michelin Defender.

At 2-3k miles a year they will out live the truck while delivering great service.

I have the BFG KO2 and they have been great for me. They ride nice and are quiet with very good traction.

I had KO’s and KO 2 for 40 years , Jeeps and Trucks, even on one of my Polaris General, they changed there rubber compound less than 10 years ago, talked to discount tire guys that I have gone to probably 6 set of tires, they told me they can’t keep up with all the problems with separation, out of balance, death wobble , I took all them off at 25 to 30 -k have stacks in barn, only use on trailer and feed trucks, use Firestone on Power Wagon, Ram Diesel, and Jeeps, never again.

I've had excellent results from the Falken Wildpeak load range E on a farm truck that still gets a lot of highway miles but also hard use in the fields and gravel roads. I drive a lot of gravel, and it notoriously will tear a cheap tire apart in months. Usually I puncture a few tires a year, but these Falken's on 2 years now are leak free. I have also had good luck with Dick Cepek Trail Country, but they tend to get really loud when wearing out.

Best of Luck

I have an 07, 5.9 quad can. Cooper atp on it now and I hate them. I've had rocks go through, and MULTPLE tread separations. All 4 have less than 5k on them now due to hazard replacement through discount. I won't buy another one.

This is the tire we installed on the youngest boys Duramax. 50,000 mile tread wear warranty. He has 6-7K on them now. So far so good. Balanced up nicely with the Method wheels. There is road noise but just a hum. Not made in China. WalMart.com had the best price and quickest shipping.
Not my choice for a tire but looks are important for some. I use the Defender XLT on my 3500 Ram. Fuel mileage and smooth noiseless ride is what I am after. It is a 3500 and I use it to pull the 13K 5th wheel, not run around the woods looking for Elk.
