If this inquiry more properly belongs in the Gunsmithing topics, I expect someone will let me know. I have a 1955 SA Garand with a bent lower barrel band. It’s flat and appears to be stamped alloy. Can-or should-it be straightened? How is it done? Or should it simply be replaced?

Thanks

Replace it. Save the old one in case a future buyer can't live without it.
