to go chase caribou northeast of there isreported to be currently problematic due to regional weather and smoke. Our air service says they are therefore slammed so getting into the feield this coming weekend is questionable. I'm hoping to recieve some additioanl intel on the ground there. Anyone in the know? Thanks much.....

Regional weather is a fact of life in Alaska year round and not something to be taken lightly. The smoke will be dependent on the “regional weather” and regional winds. I don’t know who you’re flying with but I’d be inclined to trust your pilot….

I know that for those on a limited schedule it’s hard to be patient but you don’t want to fight Mother Nature!

Good luck, I hope you can get out soon and maybe someone closer can give you more info. 👍🏼

Keep track here:

Keep in mind that rain can be a good thing as far as smoke is concerned.

Weathercam only shows in town. Smoke was temporary and shouldn't be a problem. Where are the caribou? That's the big question.
