Looking to go with Talley one piece alloy rings instead of standard Leupold bases and rings that have the windage screw in the rear. I have a 50mm objective and was wondering if medium rings would work? Trying to keep as low a cheek weld as possible and still have clearance from the barrel. What sat you?

If you use this chart, it's pretty helpful. Stack some coins atop the receiver, put scope on coin stack - add/subtract number of coins until you get clearance for the objective. (Using this will also indicate clearance of the ocular/bolt handle) Then use the chart to find the right rear height (determined from top of receiver to the bottom of scope tube).

You did not specify rifle but mediums should work. Abolt,Xbolt, Mark V low will work

Most of the scopes I use are 50mm and I have never ran a high righ set up to this day. I use talleys often as well. Should be fine

I would tend to be more concerned on whether the ocular bell would clear the bolt than anything else. It may boil down to the scope as much as the rings.
There are 2 rules to success:
1. Never tell everything that you know.

It’s a meopta Meostar, 30mm tube, Remington 700 action with a Kreiger ~#3 (heavy sporter) barrel, long action.
