i know all guns are diff, but could you guys share any recipes with the (tsx) load for this gun and caliber,or maybe other (winchesters) that you have had luck with this bullet in the (270) cal if you have any,i am getting it glass bedded and floated and i have adjusted the trigger to 2 lbs,and would love to try this bullet for shooting and for deer hunting especialy,my gun smith said he would load all 50 for me for 55.00 and thats me providing the brass and buying the bullets,i figure its a good deal, espcialy how much a box cost...
i cant wait to get my gun back and shoot it,and see how these rounds perform in it.
oh yea, i weghed the gun and with scope and all it was 7 1/2 lbs, kinda heavy still for a light weight carbine, but i like it though.
hope you guys have some good ones that might help me get started on this idea, really looking fowrard to hearing your recipes on this subject, thanks alot for any info.

try 140 TSX , Fed 210 primers, H4831. IIRC, 57.5 gr is the max listed on the Barnes website. check first though.

Blindly taking a load and loading 50 of em is a waste of your money.
Choose a powder, a primer, and do a serch of the internet for some data, work your loads up till you get the accuracy you want.
If it wont come together, try another powder, then primers etc.
It's called working up loads.
I'd go with either H or IMR 4831 and choose a primer which is available all the time, seems Federal has issues with making primers on a regular basis for us on civvy street. CCI or Win is my choice.
Sorry it's not what you originally were looking for, but that's the grim reality of it.

Well, blindly picking a load might be a waste of time, but the factories put up hundreds of thousands of rounds in certain cartridges that shoot pretty well in lots of rifles. They do this by trying the same load in several barrels and finding out what will shoot in most.

This is why suggesting H4831 and ANY 130-150 grain bullet generally works in the .270. If a .270 won't shoot with H4831 then there is something wrong with the rifle. Yeah, you might be able to get another powder to shoot slightly smaller groups, but so what? Generally deer and especially elk are far larger than prairie dogs.

One newer powder that has worked for me in several .270 rifles with 140's is Ramshot Hunter. Around 54-55 grains seems to do the trick.

we were going to try five diiferent which=(4)groups, out of 20 to see what it liked, and then load the other 30 with the one it shoots best.

Just an FYI, my post oozed of sarcasm. C'mon back to Anticosti's post in the Deer Hunting forum and take your beating like a man, you big, bad trophy hunter.

I just thought that before anyone here goes wasting their breath in helping you out here they could go have a looksie to see what an @ss you were to a good man on this board and ridiculing him for the size of the deer he shoots.

I shoot 61grs of RL-22 with 130gr TSX's in my Finnlite and 60 grs of RL-22 with 140gr Accubonds in my Mato 270. Both shoot very well. Work up to either load in your rifle.....................DJ
