I have a heck of a time trying to kill moles in my yards. Thank goodness they don't come around often, but when the do🤨 I have tried a couple different traps. I caught a couple with one type of trap awhile back and now I can't get it to work. Poison is ignored so far. Farmer next door came over and set a shotgun shell trap an finally got the last one. Now I have another that is ripping me up. Any suggestions? Anyone use the poison worms?

TomCat grubs work better than worms. Be sure to bait the tunnel on both sides and don’t flatten the mound.

This works for any of the voles, moles etc....
With our hands, we dig a 45 degree ramp at the entrance to their holes and place a rat trap on the ramp, bait it with a small piece of potato, then we cover it with a 5 gallon bucket so a bird or whatever doesn't get caught. We use a rat trap because they will pull a mouse trap down the hole if they can.
If possible use a dark colored pail, or paint it darker than a white pail....they figure its dark out and will come up during the day and get caught. I just did it and showed a friend what to do and we didn't finish one beer and the traps were going off.

We had an issue with them and tried poison worms, spike traps, clamshell traps, and based on an old wives tale, juicy fruit gum. Nothing worked. I then found the Nash choker mole trap and that is legit! it has been a gamechanger for me and i can generally catch one within 24 hours with it. After i set it, i push the trip pan to the side i think its going to come from and it has been lights out for the moles.
They are a pain and i feel for those that fight them! Good luck.

You could put Chocolate Ex-Lax down the holes, and let them dehydrate themselves once they eat it. Of course, if you have a Labrador who goes around the yard on an Easter egg hunt afterward, your carpet may suffer greatly from this approach. Voice of experience here…
Good luck,

I took care of my mole problem with Grubex and granular insecticide. Moles are after grubs and insects, since applying these products I no longer have a mole problem.

Shrew’s here, I see their tunnels under the icy snow cover in the winter. The beagle and mountain cur do a lot of digging for them. Zofia the beagle got lucky a couple weeks ago and she left one on the porch step for me.

Get rid of the grubs and you’ll get rid of the moles. I treat my lawn once a year for grubs and haven’t had a mole or skunk problem since.

One mole will make many yards of tunnels. It will look like you have an army of moles when it is really just one.
I've gone out in the morning and just watched and waited to see ground move then jam a shovel under them and pop them up. They'll be in the pile of dirt you pop up. I pick them up by the scruff of the neck and put them in a bucket then take them across the street and let them go in my neighbor's yard.
Moles are related to shrews and they have wicked teeth. Don't get bit. I'ver heard moles are one of the rare venomous mammals, too.

Get a mutt from the kill shelter and let him dig em all up and then drop him back off at the dog pound.

I've been here nearly 30 years and have never had a mole. We have voles by the truckload and plenty of pocket gophers, but no moles.

I just sit on the patio drinking beer. When I see the tunnel or mound of dirt move I give em a stomp and dig em up.
