I work with a fellow named Theron. I had never heard of it until I met him. My dad’s name was always an eyebrow raiser and very hard for people to spell right or say right even though it was only 3 letters…

Eri (pronounced “E-rye”)

Most people thought it was Eric with an invisible “c” I guess.

Was on a trial jury for a fella charged with murder. He was gay and his name was Richard Hunter. Went by Dick. First go around he got exactly what he wanted, a hung jury. Second time around he was convicted.

Sorry for you - "Sunnuvabitch" is terrible. "You" as a first name isn't that bad. Ask me how I know.

(Joking, man, joking!)

I know a Donnel, and worked with a Connie (Connell)

Lock Smith - his parents were James Smith(step up from "John,", I guess) and Jane Russell. No sheet! There was some skepticism when she checked into the hospital for the birth a couple hundred miles from home, and James wasn't there, but there wasn't anything hinkey going on. They were already married, and that's just the way things happened to turn out.

The whole town got a laugh out of it.

Had a professor named Dick Walker. Never could erase the two images that it evoked: him strolling with a pecker on a leash or him striding about in tripod fashion.

That reminds me of a girl I was in HS with a couple years behind me, her name was Bea Free. She had a reputation of being free as well.

Every time a come across a female named Ava, I cringe thinking that her parents may have given her the middle name of Gina.

I knew a fellow (poor guy) named Richard Washer that went by Dick Washer. Nobody ever forgot his name. My father had a fellow in school with him ( talking the 1920's ) named Lacey Sheets. That is a fairly common last name around here.
