Does anyone have a Martinez Hammer? If so, which one have you got and what do you think of it.

No sir. I toted a 20 oz Vaughn. Rubber coated, fiberglass (?) handle.

Isn't it kinda like that perfect shotgun or rifle?
It's not so much brand as what fits and feels "right".
Knew a lot of guys that wouldn't carry anything less than a 32 oz hammer. If I couldn't drive it with my 20 oz, ot was time for a shop maul!⚒️

I like the 14oz Stiletto, especially the magnet to hold a nail while I hang on with the other hand so I don't fall off the roof. I had a piece break off my Stiletto, I contacted them and a new hammer was sent to me.

I have now been using a 22oz Estwing, it smashes stuff real good, I like using it for foundations, not finishing lol.

When I still put on my nail pouch, there is a 22oz Eastwing on the left loop and a 14 or 16oz Stiletto on the right loop.

Never owned a Martinez and probably never will... handles too short for me.

Perfect hammer for me is 19-20 ounces with an 18" wood handle.

Perfect wrecking hammer for me is a 28 ounce EstWing (all steel) and an EstWing (all steel) mason hammer in the left ring.

A friend uses the Stiletto.
I can't see paying the high tariff.

I have lots of hammer strikes with the 22oz Estwing smooth face, framer length.
Good form hammer.
Some elbows can't take the one-piece steel design.

I was in the 22oz Estwing camp with a Plumb hammer for finishing. I was also in the tennis elbow camp from swinging it. I'd rather pay $275.00 than deal with that again.

I think Milwaukee bought Stiletto and now they are made in China so I'm out there.

I'll look up the Ruger Hammer, Huntsman.

All my Carpenter Tools got stolen 7 or 8 years ago and I took it as a sign from God to drop that work from the list of stuff I was doing and didn't look back.

I need to build a cabin and storage building so I'm going to have to replace some tools. I picked up a new Potato Cannon yesterday.

I always used to use a 21 Oz Deluge straight handle.
That was a lifetime ago but those were the best.

The early Stiletto TI hammers were cast by ruger.

My guys use titanium Stilletos. Back in the day I used a heavy Estwing. I'm 55 and my elbow hurts almost every day, I hope the boys get spared this when they're older

Another vote for Vaughn. Many hammers I've tried kill my elbow after swinging it all day.

My old Vaughn with an ash handle was much kinder to my arm.

The Messicans round here use air nailers.

People don't use hammers like they used to. But when you spend all day driving nails, IMO, nothing is as comfortable as a wooden handle. Estwings, fiberglass handles, all have bounce/vibrations back through the handle to your hand. Wood handle deadens all of it.

You still need a hammer, though.
Although, hammer skill is fading as the air guns have taken over.
Except those building concrete forms will always be swinging hammers.

I've seen it go from rigging axes, to claw hammers and to air guns.
