I am sitting in the midst of Ruby throated hummer outbreak. Adults and youngsters. 10 or more flying and fighting at the feeder at the the same time.
Never seen anything like it.
Pretty darn cool.

I love the hummers, both kinds 😏 I can watch them all day. I hate this time of year when they start to head south

Mine pretty much all left. We had quite a few this summer though! Couple different kinds. Always worry about catching one in my eyeball when they’re going nuts.

Talked to my dad today..
He’s retired… idle time..
Was rigging up a shade ( pie pan ) over each lf his hummingbird feeders out in the yard…
To keep the juice for getting so hot…

Watched something like that this summer. I think the dry spring and summer was not too kind to the wildlife this year, so when our camp's feeders went up they swarmed it like flies. Very cool to see so many at once, seemed like there was about 4 different types.

I've often said that if hummingbirds were the size of robins I'd be afraid to go outside

We have quite a few of the Ruby hummers here too. Sounds like a bee hive when they all show up. I've been mixing 1 gallon of sugar water for them every week. They will really be increasing from now until Labor Day weekend or close to then. Last year the best count I could get was 28 of them at the feeders at one time.

Nice! I have two Anna hummers visiting my feeders. One makes tiny little chirps.

I've been mixing 1 gallon of sugar water for them every week. Right now mine are goin through a half gallon per day. Been hot and they are thirsty. miles
Look out for number 1, don't step in number 2.
