Federal brass, neck sized with a LCD, Fed, 210, 75 grain ELD, 30 grains AR comp. 3150 FPS. Accurate in my 1-8 Ruger American.

Les, I'll show you a couple good, "pet", loads that I have developed for my Tikka. I'm pretty happy when I'm putting 3 shots into around an inch at 400 yards:

My experience with the 88gr ELD match bullet in the 22-250 has been pretty positive.

Here's a cheaper Barnes 69gr match burner load that was alright:

Thanks Les, another reason I shoot paper at 400 is because at my local range, the furthest targets we can drive to is 400. We have steel set up at 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1,000 yards though.


I guess you can say it's my favorite playground right now. I have other places I can shoot and set up paper, but I'm kind of lazy. This makes it too easy..



400 isn't that far, but it's a good distance for testing different rifles. In this pic, I was comparing 3 different rifles. Sometimes I'm impressed or disgusted in how some of these different rifles shoot. Thinking your loudenboomer 300wby magnum is going to lay down some serious kick azz, often times does not happen. A lot of times the .223 caliber's shine. I believe in the pic here, my AR15 did some major kick azz. Even though I've seen that many times, it still surprises me.

There's beauty in that 1 in 8" twist 22-250 though, especially when running 77's and 88's.

I wish I had a 400 yard range 😂. My normal range is only 100 yards, I do have a place to shoot 300 but I don’t get down there very often.

RL 15 has done well for me with 75 gr ELDM and 70 gr Accubond. The ELDM is a smidge more accurate, but the 70gr Accubond has shown much better on game performance. The 62 gr TTSX has also done well but didn't quite have the accuracy of the other two in my rifle.

I’m getting 3000fps out of an 18” barrel and shooting tiny groups

I found some RL 15 I forgot I had. Any advice on a loads for 75’s?

60 v max with superformance

32.9 gr shot the tightest with a 75 grain AMAX and Lapua brass. Avg velocity in my Tikka was slow at 3,055 fps.

With the 75's I'm running 33.5 gr of RL-15 with an average velocity of 3340 fps.

LBP, post results of your RL15 testing.
I just got me a pound of it to try with 77 gr. Berger OTM's and also got some Win 748 I'm gonna try as well.
So far I have just had so-so accuracy with Varget, 4064, and IMR 4350.

Ran some chrono loads yesterday in my 22/250.
RL-26
22" barrel, 1/8 twist
88 gr Hornady ELD

36 gr. = 2838 fps
37 gr. =2890 fps
38 gr. =2941 fps
39 gr =3079 fps
40 gr. =3041

When I see a higher charge weight and reduced velocity that usually means the end of the line. And a very faint ejector mark on the 40 gr load confirmed it.
My old accuracy load in this 22/250 is 32.5 gr RL-15 for 3075 fps, kinda matches others experience, I find that very interesting

Yep, my accuracy loads with the 88gr are right around 3,050fps, as well.
