I drew this tag in the Sangres this year. It took 10 points. I’m booked with a group that I’ve hunted “low country” elk and mule deer with for 12 years. They have been sheep hunting up there for years, so they know the peaks. I’m reading on other forums that the quality of the mulies isn’t what it used to be up there.
Anyone on here have any experience with this hunt?

Generally, mule deer numbers are not what they used to be anywhere. With that said, it seems to me you're having a rare opportunity to be hunting with familiar buddies who are familiar with the beautiful high country. Whether you bag a trophy or not, you are going to have an experience you will remember forever. Trust that your friends have noticed reasons to hunt there.

You should be in for some spectacular views and hopefully you find a trophy of your liking.

Those big muleys are tough to get. In my experience, if you see one on a far ridge, don't look at it until you're well hidden. You can bet that he's watching you watch him and he'll disappear.

Anyone on here have any experience with this hunt? Yes, many years ago. I hope you have horses. Even with them it's a tough hunt.

I believe high country mulies is one of the toughest hunts. Man, what an experience that I wished lasted longer for me! I never launched an arrow at one in all those years!
