I've done that for does. But I'm not worrying about it if it's a big buck.

How's everyone doing? Lots going on here. We have a kiddo in the state high school fishing tourney next weekend. Trying to get my dad his house built before it gets too cold to work on the exterior, got 2 new college kids moved. My son is moving to Staples and my stepdaughter moved to Willmar, both for tech/trades, and got one starting Pharmacy school. Whew....

Oh yeah, there is some hunting at some point and I'd like to fish 30 or 40 more times before that starts.

It’ll be a few weeks before I can get to that TJAY. But I’m looking forward to it.

Hey Tom - Both girls are back to college, one to the west and one a bit south. Trail cam is only showing does and fawns, no bucks yet.

What program is the boy in at Staples?

Tom - you sound busier than I'd want to be.

Nothing new here - just working. Boy got engaged this summer so there's a little there I'm helping him with. Grouse season soon, deer season etc. usual.

Hey Jeff, if I remember correctly our daughters go to the same school? I can't remember though. The boy is in the heavy equipment operator program over there. He's on the "fast track" program. So, he'll start the end of November and be finished the end of July I believe. He'll have Class A cdl and have a bunch on hours on the machinery.

Andrew - Busier than I'd like to be as well. Getting my dad into his house was not what we expected to be doing. One we get it dried in, which could be by the end of this weekend, he can do a bunch on his own.

He's recovering from transplant still. We're about 75 days out from it.

Doctors say all is on track so that's what we're going with. He's home with her, puttering around the house like old man Fonda in On Golden Pond.

I think he's gonna be ok. Process is all.

Thank you for asking.

We've been picking and canning to get ready for the coming fall. 22 gallons of spaghetti sauce and about half that in salsa. Put up probably 30-40 lbs of peppers, even did some jalapeno relish that packs a kick, should be good on brats this winter. I've made a couple more decoys but this heat has chased me out of the garage.
I'm hoping it cools off so I can get a bunch made before early ice.

We’ve been canning too. Buncha pickles, peppers, and I’d like to make some spaghetti sauce

Good stuff Boyos !!

Doug & Megan got married, Saturday.

Needles to say, we've been busy !

Cut my trails, yesterday, so starting to prepare !

Saw lots of grouse, too.

Congrats on getting rid of kids! 😂

We’re going to cut trails tomorrow. Probably will see tons of grouse. The season doesn’t open til the weekend. 😂

Wish I was grouse hunting too. Or bear hunting. No tag this year. Family friends got this one about 5 miles from my place...

Escanaba mill - technically I think their name is Billerud but EVERYONE just calls it "Mead Paper" from back in the day. The mills in the UP are basically full and have the loggers shut off. Either not taking pulp or they have the guys cutting on strict quotas. More Ponsse processors and or KW log trucks with pups for sale than you can shake a dead cat at on marketplace right now. A guy could spend a couple million and not drive more than 30 miles to get them all. It's bad. We were lucky to connect with this guy who's not been put on quota yet for biomass/chips so he was willing to cut. Him and his brother in a Scorpion.

About 45 acres, mostly old evergreens with budworm.

Property history is basically a dairy farm from late 1800's - 1950's. Grandfather bought the 120 in mid 50's for tree farm. Tree farmed and cut steady till the 1990's and then let go. So now, between this 45 and last years 40 - got about 80/90 acres cut - hoping for good grouse habitat. Regardless, has to be better for deer. Trees were so thick, you had to belly crawl to get in/out. Deer wouldn't even do it. Giant dead patch of woods for game.
