Just watched it again. Pretty danged good movie. Amazing what Desmond Doss was able to accomplish.
l told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. Make your life go here. Here's where the peoples is. Mother Gue, I says, the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world, and by God, I was right.

It takes an amazing person to be a combat medic who fully knows they will see combat. It takes an extraodinary person to do that job unarmed. I'm not sure I would have survived combat if I wasn't armed.

watch the movie several times until I watched it the first time I would never have pictured Vince Vaughn in a serious role such as that..

He was very brave, the movie I think is a mix of actually two island campaigns into one. In other words they knew he was brave before the big climax on that island campaign with Hacksaw ridge.

Watched last night based on seeing this thread yesterday. VG movie, my wife even liked it in spite of the graphic war scenes.
Never try to teach a pig to sing...
...it wastes your time and annoys the pig!
