Premo blood dip.

Cheap as schidt at Walmart, stays on most dip rigs pretty well unless you're in really stiff current, and it catches fish. It is pretty worthless in heavy current, not thick enough for that.

I always did best with just worms for the little channel cats here in Montana. My son caught a 20 pounder on a goldeneye this year.

Open it up and leave in another part of the walmarks. It’s hilarious.

I used to catfish a lot. I had a tackle box that held two jars of Sonny's, some catfish Charlie dip worms, a couple stringers and some sticks. I loved getting some nice channels on Sonny's. Now it's called Triple S brand. Good luck and don't get stung.

I've never caught a catfish over 14" on liver. If I don't want stinkbait, I'll get some frozen shrimp or catch a few bluegills and cut those up. Chubs work ok too

Frozen raw shrimp. Shell on if they have them. Also cut chicken breast in chunks, put in plastic bag and saturate with strawberry Jello. The chicken is better if left in the Jello over night.

You can also make chicken livers stay on the hook with small surgical mesh tubing.

Use cut bait like a civilized person and maybe catch something besides nasty channel cats.

Anyone who calls channel cats nasty is either misidentifying something else, or fishes in sewage plants.

I recently found some brine-cured shad at Walmart. Not cured in formaldehyde, like most of them, but salt cured. They're tough, are shelf stable, and catch cats like crazy. Cats LOVE salted minnows.

Here in Utah, many use chunks of chub, or whole 3"-4" chubs. Others like raw shrimp. Almost nobody uses commercial dip or stink baits. (Maybe we have a higher class of channel cats!)

And our cats are delicious.

Chicken livers left in the sun for a day. Works wonders on channel cats around these parts

Night crawlers fill chest with channel cats during the spawn Also have good luck with raw shrimp & hotdogs. I rarely use store bought stink bait.

Chicken gizzards stay on the hook better than livers or get a hunk of beef tongue or heart to cut up and soak in strawberry kool-aid .
