I mainly hunt with my Win70 stainless classic in 30-06 so my rifle is all man but I could see how some of these new fandangled chamberings might claim to be a woman. What say you?

I've never named a firearm, but have called a few of them bad names on occasion.

My wife owns a .270.
It's in my safe. But it's her rifle.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it

I refer to my 12ga. Mossberg as “Bertha”, and my old CVA .50 as “Betsy Ann”, so, I suppose some of mine identify as female.

Guess I'm just boring, I don't name inanimate objects or give them genders.

I have a Ruger #1 in 45-70. For the hell of it, I loaded some 500gr round nose to around 50k psi. I called it Buster then. It knock some sense out of me. Backed it down to standard loads. It's still a man.

Nope, not guns.
But about a month ago when we were on vacation, a bunch of us were sitting around and this subject came up about pickup trucks. The women asked me if my truck was a man or a woman, and I said that if it was anything, it was definitely a man.

I have one gender-assigned firearm, 'Bess. 'Bess is a 75 Cal (11 Gauge) Pedersoli Brown Bess musket. Two quotes from recent missives about 'Bess sum up my feelings about her: I can already see why the 'Bess is knocked about as a practical hunting arm. It certainly is heavy. It has all the subtlety of a fart in church. If Bess and I were back in high school, I'd imagine her playing bass drum in the marching band, but only because they wouldn't let her try out for varsity football. Perhaps the only dark side in this romance is that ‘Bess is a dirty bitch compared to any other firearm I have encountered. The bore was incredibly fouled, the lock was a mess, as was everything within 6 inches of the touchhole. Yikes. ‘Bess is going to be one of those dates that make you want to throw in the shower before attempting dinner and a movie. However, her overall performance is worth the effort. The other thing you have to understand about 'Bess is the size of her balls. She shoots two different sizes. The .69 Caliber ball is what one uses when doing the paper cartridge thing. It weighs 490 grains. The other is a .735 cal ball. I forget how much it weighs, but it has given me the best accuracy. The difference between the two is that the paper cartridge loads kind of clean off the barrel, so you don't have to swab between shots. The .735 can only be shot from a clean barrel. I tried 2 OZ of #6 shot out of her for turkey season. Yowzah! 1 OZ of #6 works fine for squirrel.
