I get the sense you have done a very fine job of raising your son well. Congratulations and thanks for starting a thread that is uplifting.

There is so much toxic crude in current events it's easy to get mired down in what's "wrong" around us. Posts like this help to serve as a reminder about the importance of keeping friends and family close and to be grateful for the beauty all around us too.

I went up to the bartender and asked if they had a specialty drink. She said, "Yes, the salty dog", which was apparently vodka and grapefruit juice with a salty rim. I asked if I could add a bit of grenadine to it and she thought that was a good idea.

Let's just say my next drink was a captain coke....

I haven't been in this place; I have been a place like it. It's the Dirty Shame Saloon in Yaak, Montana.
Some do-gooder bought the place and "Fixed it Up" NOT.

They had a sign on the door, however, the bartender said since it was before 6pm he could come in. We got a little beat up going across the bay to Katchamak (waves were just 3-4 feet), but to a flatlander it beat us up a bit.. My son said the Sprite hit the spot...

Yeah, I was told that a few times. One guy from Montana that I met said the previous time he was there it was for 2 weeks. He realized he didn't get to see as much as he planned, so this time he was there for 6 weeks and was still concerned he wouldn't get it all in...
