My Dad picked up a 6 Remington in a Ruger #1. The scope mount it came with is very limited for scope mounting. I was just wondering what kind of picatinny options are available.

Leupold offset rings work fine for me and, to me, look a lot better than a picatinny. One or two, if needed.

i have had custom Picatinny base rails for some of my Ruger #1`s .

I like my scopes set back a bit and scoping the #1 can sometime be a problem, depending on scope tube length, etc.

This rail helped. It overlays the Ruger rib with longer screws supplied, but wasn't designed to accommodate a rear sight. I cut it to clear the sight.

If Ruger had let their factory rib extend slightly over the receiver, I would have liked it better.

That seems like the problem was the scope was too far forward

yep a Picatinny base made a big difference for me to help get the scope back farther.
