Actually, I had this and the fail on fire safety and the non-bolt locking safety and the flimsy, sheet metal extractor issues long before he did. There is a reason as to why there is an entire cottage industry focused on "improvements" to the 700 that curiously enough, addresses all the maladies enumerated above. smile

Love that!

My first rifle was the 6mm ADL and had a gorgeous stock. I cracked it. Replaced a few times now wears a Stocky's with a floorplate.

You have some great pics and fantastic hunting places.

This is the first but not the last Remington I bought. It’s a 700 SS in 30-06. I bought it new in 1993 at a local bait and tackle shop which is long gone for $440. It’s been a good one.

I have the same exact rifle.....still one of my favorites
