I recently got myself a TCR 83 in 22-250 and 223. Neat gun BUT it doesn't want to open . If you keep at it for a bit, it will finally open, but no rhyme or reason as to why. It seems the locking bolt doesn't want to retract far enough to the right, barely moves at all lever to the left. Even after lubing.
I will take it apart if I must, but I would prefer to send to a smith that knows them, if such a guy still exists. Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

May be that posting on Graybeard would get you a referral, there are a couple folks there that collect TCR. Or give Ed at Ed's TC a call?

FWIW, all of my TCRs you move the lever to the right to open, not the left.
