I got one of these on a rifle I purchased. It is a Swift Premier 2.5-10x50mm Rifle Scope SRP3908M. Anyone else have one? Are they any good?

Thanks. Jim

I know nothing about them other than a young gal used one on a 300 Win Mag to drop a Stone Sheep in 2008.

I've still got a few . One on a muzzleloader, one on an A bolt 300 and at least two on rimfires. No issues they're at least on par with Nixon buckmasters/ pro staff series in my opinion. Shop near me used to sell a ton and they were reasonably priced at the time. Their big selling point at the time was any problem take it back to the shop you got it from and they gave you a new one. Never had to with any of mine

Have a 4-12X40 that I’ve owned for 20+ years. It’s just been on rimfires and a .223. It’s always tracked well and held zero. Would I take it to Africa- no. But for gophers, p/dogs and fox and coyotes - sure.

We sold a bunch of them 15-20 years ago at the shop. Had to send a few back for various issues. I've got a 1.5x-4.5x on an Encore .405 that kicks like a mule. So far it has held up. Also have a pistol scope on a 7mm BR. Clear enough, but dim as Kamala when the light starts to go. I'd put them in the Bushnell Banner class.

I put a fixed 4x32 on a shotgun 25+ years ago when I lived in MI. Never had a problem with it, shooting 3" magnum slugs. Optic quality was quite good for price point and era.

At best, maybe Bushnell Banner quality. Some, maybe more like late 70's Tasco, except I've never had a Swift fog up. I still have a 4-12×50 or 6-18x50 on a Win. Coyote .22-250. The AO is wonky. If you mess with it much, the center of the image gets a little distorted, so I've got it set at about 150yds and don't touch it.

I had a couple of their 3x9s in the 80's and early 90's that were noticably brighter than the Vari-X II Leupolds of the day. As SCGunNut said, they had a 1.5-4.5x20 that was as tough as woodpecker lips. A friend has one on a .460 S&W Mag Ruger #1 and I had one on a .45-70 #1, and both are vicious kickers when loaded hot.

I know a couple of guys that still swear by them, and really nobody that swears AT them.

I’ve got one.

Back in the day, it was a decent line of scopes.

IIRC, the big selling point was ‘over the counter warranty’

Those Vari-x II's were single coated. I have one. At the time, I didn't know better.

Impressive scope for the money at the time, they sold well here.
Many are still in use, I never owned one.

Lots sold in these parts as well. Never heard anyone complain about one.

I lost the biggest mule deer buck I’ve ever seen through a rifle scope when my Swift scope lost zero 6” high & 6” right at 100 yards when checked after the hunt. If he had been facing opposite at 280 I might have hit him in the head.

I used 9X Swift binocs for some years until it got lifted out of my truck at Safeway one day. I'd foolishly left it on the seat, truck unlocked. Pretty good binocs, too.
