I just finished installing several Jard triggers, along with a Trop safety, and of course I had to remove and replace the safety detent spring many times. I had no problem removing the spring, but the replacement was tricky, to say the least, since the hole in the spring is smaller than the head of the pivot pin. Is there a quick and easy way to put the spring back on, or is there a tool that makes the job easier? I asked several No. 1 owners and I was given a few suggestions, including using a brass hammer; a brass punch; a C clamp or an arbor press. One person also said he modified a nut driver to fit over the spring. Is there a better way to do the job?

I found that torquing the spring backwards (unwinding it slightly) tends to enlarge the hole through its coils, just enough to enable placing it over the pin by finger pressure alone.

DANG!! I fiddled around and cussed getting them back over the years. Cussed put them down and walked away. I probably did just that accidentally but I was too stupid to realize what I did.
