Like many here, I have been interested in a single shot rifle chambered for .360 BH. As of yet, none have made it to the shelves. In talking with Mike Bellm, he assured me that a 350 Legend re-chambered and throated for .358 bullets would work safely. I found a CVA Scout in 350 Legend that I bought and sent the barrel to him to re-chamber to .360 BH.
After getting it back, I set it up with a 4x40 Nikon and purchased factory Remington 200gr. C/L ammo. My first trip to the range was no go. After several attempts to fire, with no primer strikes, I took the gun to my gunsmith. He verified the headspace and firing pin protrusion was good. I left the gun with him and in a few days he had it ready to pick up. The factory firing pin return spring was to stiff to allow the hammer fall to drive the firing pin to strike the primer. I never test fired the gun before sending it out and he didn't see how it could have fired a cartridge at the factory.
Anyway, back to the range today. I fired a full box with no failures. Good accuracy and fun to shoot. I've seen many people here comment on the Scout triggers and this one is very good. Below I've posted pictures of the rifle markings, fired case heads and targets. I'm happy with the results.
