In July of 2022 I fell off my e-bike and injured my right leg very badly. Long story. Suffice to say that my front wheel slipped on some wet leaves and I sprained my MCL, broke my PCL, broke my patella, and worst of all I completely ruptured my right quad tendon. Went through two surgeries, 10 weeks in a wheel chair, and many months of physical therapy. All injuries are mostly healed now, except the PCL which will never heal.

With my very demanding and time consuming job, I finally went for a long (for me) ride last Sunday. I’ve taken some short rides earlier this summer, but Sunday’s ride was the longest since my injury. An 11.4 mile loop.

It was great to get out for a long ride again. I feel much better this week than I did last week. E-bikes are the bomb!

That is all.

Enjoy. My time on two wheels is centering and restorative.

That’s a pretty tough injury. Glad you are getting after it again. I’ve been riding seriously for about three and a half years. I’ve accepted that I’m going to crash some but just to make the best choices that I can and try to let my skills keep pace with what my brain thinks that I can do. Like you guys said. The risk is worth the reward.

Glad to hear you are back at it. The bike is a great way to stay in shape.
