When I do drink bourbon, it's Evan William's. Seems fine to me.

Evan Williams over Jim Beam. Wild Turkey 101 over both of them.

Evan, of the two. Waiting for full proof Benchmark to become available in my area. I hear good things.

My preference is EW, and it is not even close.

Been mixing Old Granddad in my Kentucky Mule drinks. How's Even Williams compare?
Thanks! Virgil B.

EW. Bulleit or Makers Mark preferred.

EW over JB but if going cheap Very Old Barton is head and shoulders better than either.

Did a blind taste test of EW against Ezra Brooks, both straight bourbon. The EB was better than the EW, but both are just mixers, not sippers. Jim Beam and Makers Mark are both mixers too. IMO, you have to step up a little for good sippers. Wild Turkey too, just a mixer.
I picked up some Bulleit. That is a much better bourbon for only a little more (<$30). It compares well with it's daddy, Four Roses, but is obviously much younger.

Thanks! Virgil B. I don't drink mules, but on the basis of straight whiskey taste I'd stick with the OGD.

Evan Williams is the best bang for the buck in bourbon, hands down. It's my brother's favorite. I was skeptical about how good a bourbon that was under $20 for 1.75L could be, but I was amazed how good it was.

If ya gotta...mix with a little water.
If that don't work...go back to putting everything in a baby bottle.
