I have 2 Midway (allegedly Bear Creek) barrels and it's taken some dedicated work to get them under 3 inches. Both have/had lots of tool marks internally.

Does Honest Outlaw have credibility? & if so, from where?
Sorry if a drift, but if something is deemed good or bad the tester should be credible.
I have checked out several of his videos. He seems to be pretty truthful about his evaluations. He calls home somewhere just north of Ames Iowa.

If I didn't consider him credible I wouldn't have posted the video.
Typically he does full 1,000 round reviews, and has plenty of videos on guns he doesn't like. This was a "first shots" video, so just over 100 rounds though it, but I hope he does a full 1000 round review.
I also have a Midway/Bear Creek upper. It's over gassed, has a rough chamber that leads to function issues, and doesn't group all that great. That said, Jeff's had good luck with them lately, so perhaps they are upping their game. We'll have to continue to watch and see.
You didn't use logic or reason to get into this opinion, I cannot use logic or reason to get you out of it.

I bought a new AR at a gun show about 5 years ago. It had a RRA lower and a no name upper but boy was I surprised how well it shot. Sometimes I think you have to really try to make a bad AR for it not shoot fairly decent groups. YMMV. Dave
Good lower and parts kit. When your done putting the lower together. Google PSA and get on their email list. They sell it all and with patience you can get the upper config at a better price on sale. Mb

And their chrome lined FN barrels are more consistent than anything you'll see from BCA.

I don't think Bear Creek has ever been accused of turning out 100% junk.
What they have been accused of is spotty, hit-or-miss quality. Sometimes you win the BC lottery, sometimes you lose.
Exactly. I will never understand why guys would chase any on again, off the next type of firearm. Is that all your life and your family members' lives are worth? Reslly? A couple-few hundred bucks?
Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.
Never owned a BCA lower but have fooled with several of their uppers. So far no problems with accuracy or barrels that fouled easily. The last one I bought is a 223 Wilde mostly for the parts. Decided to test 10 new magazines, cleaned it, shot all 300 or so rounds without a bobble. Shoots my favorite reload into an inch for 5 shots. My complaint is how heavy the hand guards are. Now PSA, the last two lowers were crappy. An AR10 that was badly cast and the magazines would not sit right and lots of malfunctions. The other an AR15 and it's issue is a poorly made bolt catch. Lowers DPMS has been good for me on the cheap end. Anderson not as bad as PSA.
