I buy used at least 10:1 over new. Waiting on a Tisas 1911A1 from Gunbroker NIB to my door for $384. Whittaker's gets first chance when I start looking.

There have been a number of times when big stores have ridiculous sales and I buy heavy. SW when they went through troubled times, WalMart, Cabela's, Fred Meyer and more. Garage sales I always ask if they have guns.

If I want to buy a new gun online I always get the manufacturer model part number of the gun and then goggle gun deals dot com. Example: Ruger 40173 at gun deals.com
It will bring up every online dealer that has it in stock. Listed from lowest to highest prices
Then you may have to research a little for lowest shipping cost. And some dealers still don’t charge tax.

I've bought two from Bud's because there was something special about them which made it difficult to find locally. I've bought a couple off Gunbroker for the same reason (it ain't easy being left-handed).

But when I bought my CW9 a few years ago, by the time I added shipping and transfer fees, it was cheaper (and quicker) to just go to my LGS.

Ya just have to check all of your options.

I did buy a gun at Uncle Lee's back when I lived in TN. Wasn't that the storefront for Buds, or did I mess that up? I think Uncle Lee's closed a while back.

I think uncle lee’s still exists in some form, maybe just online. I haven’t been to Greenville to the actual store in years. I believe it did change owners too . Actually met “Lee” the owner through work years ago.

Oh, I did mess that up, I think uncle Lee's is now an online entity called "wing supply." Don't sign up for their email list, they send you three emails a day.

I shop by text message with the local gun shop and gunsmith guy. For years there was not a decent gun shop close by. Before I got a concealed carry permit I always got the 3 day delay which meant another 2 hour roundtrip.

In the past few years I’ve ordered a couple through one LGS, bought some online, and also recently bought my first through Gun Genie. They have decent prices, and my dealer said he got pretty much the same profit as a regular in-store sale, without having to lay out any money up front. No transfer fees either.

What fresh Hell is this?
