I'm just curious to see how the deer hunting is in the area.

I'd recommend staying west of Dryden. I spent a handful of days to the east and couldn't find a deer a track.

I'm 30 kms west of Dryden, been real tough the last 3 years.

Sat 8 hours Saturday & 7 Sunday.

1 small spike, seen Saturday & 1 doe Sunday - Obviously could have converted either or both.

Saw my 1st rooster pheasant & a Fisher too.

So, not wasted days !

Interesting is the whitetails from around here are so much different than other places on the Continent, that spike looks quite a bit larger than what one would see around here.

Howdy Mate,

Yes, our whitetails are large bodied, for sure !

Some have decent racks;

Some don't, particularly what I refer to as "scrub bucks";

This 2nd deer, was way heavier, than the 1 above !
