It is over a hundred bucks less than the bog death grip and has a ball head for vertical movement, which the bog does not have. Guessing the bog is chinacom too?

I wouldn’t buy it. No customer service, may or may not be of sketchy quality, etc.. Look at the business address in the listing.🙄

No, I'd absolutely avoid that thing. Looks like complete junk copy wannabe crap. Limited # of reviews. Just send me the $137 save yourself the grief. The prone AR is photoshopped! LOL

Are you comparing apples to apples?

I know the Bog with the carbon fiber legs is about $100 more than that one, but I'm sure I've seen the all aluminum one for about that price or a little more.

No, the death grip bog pod aluminum is more, you may be thinking of the one without the clamp.

Edit: it does have the ball head

If you're buying it off of Amazon through the link above, it has free returns. You will have it at your house in less than a week . You literally have nothing to lose by trying one. I say go for it and let us know how it works.

This is a counterfeit bog pod. Note the brand and its called deathgrips, not deathgrip. Brand is EBODSJR, not bog pod.

That is why it's way cheaper than the bog pod.

The one in my original post is its own brand. It has limited reviews because it's only a few months old I think. As stated, free returns

I bought a aluminum death grip for $130 ( might of had some points)a couple of months ago at Cabela’s. My wife and a buddy both used it to kill a Pronghorn. Neither were overly long shots but both were glad I was carrying the thing. I wouldn’t say its a perfect product but for the price I dont think I would buy a knock off. Amazon shows the bog pod for $141.23

I'd hit Doug up. He can steer you toward the best bang for the buck. I'd go with this and Doug's great customer service before I'd go with the Amazon unknown. https://cameralandny.com/shop/sirui...0138-837b-00163e90e196?variation=2153372

I bough a very nice Slik carbon fiber from him last year. It was on sale for 199. He might run that sale again soon. If he does, I'd highly recommend spending a little bit more for it.

If you want to carry an extra 8.5 lbs the BOG Deathgrip should work fine. I prefer something in the 3-4 lb range to make things lighter when walking.

I recently bought a Leupold 436 Pro Guide tripod which weighs 4 lbs. It seems good so far. I've used lighter BOG tripods without the Deathgrip lock for years and they work well for most purposes. For longer shots (400+) I think the lock is an advantage.
