I have ar10s and ar15s that we sometimes hunt with but I don't have any good AR slings. Most of mine have a magpul stock of some sort and most of my newer ones have aero m-one or S-one handguards. Most are mock and have at few quick detach points.
What's a good way to go? One point? Two point? Are there other good options? My 11 year old has been carrying my lightweight 16" 300 hamr with a ctr stock and a 12.7" S-one. I'd like to start with a good sling for it that would be easy for him to use. I'm looking for good value reasonably priced options maybe in the $50 range plus or minus a bit.

You don't want a one point sling for hunting unless you will be stationary. I like Frank’s slings. Frank Proctor slings

Not much wrong with a GI websling, especially if you ever want to learn how to shoot with a sling.

I like the two point Magpul slings with QD attachments. They work very well for me. If I were carrying the rifle many miles I might want more padding, but for most uses these work great.

I don't have any uses for a one-point sling. Two-point all the way. I use a regular Vero Vellini with Talon swivels on a hunting AR and the Blue Force Vickers slings on my other AR's.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

For a hunting gun, or just for carrying a long way, a 2 point for sure.
The Proctor sling is good & I have a couple.
But the Magpul 2 point that also converts to a single point is my favorite.
But again, just for hunting, I'd prefer the Proctor version.

The only question on the BFG Vickers is if you want padded or not. I like both, and unpadded is better with plates, padded better for no armor for me.
