My gun safe is full of traditional wood stocked rifles with traditional lower power SFP variable scopes with a few AR's and traditional synthetic stocks sprinkled into the mix.
Want to explore the hybrid hunt/target rifle market. Candidates include RAR Hunter, Tikka UPR, Mossberg Patriot LR Tactical, putting a Brownell's Howa barreled action in a KRG bravo or some other similar iteration. Lot's of options and I haven't decided which direction quite yet.
Also want to explore FFP, mil scope market. Again, many options and curious about the Campfire's opinion of the following candidates. All 4 are generally in my scope budget ($500-$1500) but would prefer $1000 or less.
SWFA 3-15x42 Mil Quad Tract Toric 2.5-15x44 FFP MRAD version Nightforce SHV F1 4-14x50 Mil-R Trijicon Tenmile 3-18x44 FFP MRAD
-----Edit-------- Forgot to add the Athalon Helos BTR 2-12x42 FFP Mil -----------------
Target shooting will be 100 to 600 yards and hunting would be in the 300 - 450 range.
Thanks for your opinions and open to suggestions.
Scott

I’ve used the SWFA and the NF. I liked both of them, but I preferred the SWFA. The NF has some features that the SWFA doesn’t have, like illumination and zero stop (or zero set). I realized that I don’t need either of those and I prefer the milquad over the Mil-R.

I don't have tons of experience with it yet, but I've been happy so far with the Athlon Helos BTR 2-12x42. It has some features missing from the SWFA (AO, zero stops, illumination) and it tracks well and is smaller to boot. The SWFAs that I've had work really well, biggest downer for me is the size.
