Do you use a drag to smooth your roads, driveways, etc?? The drag in the trailer is mine, it’s 8 feet long, built this 10 foot one yesterday afternoon for a guy to smooth dirt after he discs and plants his oat patches.
I made it so he can cut a foot off each end if he decides it’s too long.

For roads / drove ways those “land plane” style 3 pt drags worn well.

For seed, I’ve got several homemade drags.

One made of old drill pipe and sucker rod for my tractor.
One made of chain link / cyclone fence for my SxS.

I've got a 16' cattleguard, made of railroad track.
We flip it over and drag fields with it. Sure knocks down the gopher mounds.

For my driveway I use a Land Plane Grading Scraper.

For repairing hog damage, I've tried a number of things. Most recent is a railroad tie/chain link fence contraption that bounces around and does a poor job.

I'll be looking at making one like yours, Hanco.

Thanks.

LOL...

My roads are so tough I would shear the fang on a D-7 ripper.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

My friend wants it to use for that also, hogs jack up his pastures a good bit. He traps them hard, but you know it’s impossible to get rid of them. If you lived closer, I would build it for you Mr Boone. It took me about 4 hours to make the ten footer.

That's a good drag!

For covering oats and such, I generally either drag 2 16' welded wire panels attached to a pipe, and pulled behind the tractor or Mule with a chain centered from both ends to the hitch point, or a ridged harrow that's adjustable as to how much it engages the ground to level and cover.

Our shooting range uses a homemade drag made of railroad track. Works just fine for our purposes.

I bet it does, that track is heavy. They had a drag in south Texas built out of track to fuuuck over brush. They pulled it with a dozer. It was about 40 feet wide.

Retired cross tie with a piece of retired utility pole behind.
The tie is heavy enough to bust up clods and smooth out humps.
The round utility pole does a really nice job of just smoothing out the rough spots.
