Triggernosis: Love me some 25/06 Remingtons!
Bought my first one (Remington 700 BDL Varmint Special) about 53 years ago - been lovin'um ever since.
Wish I had kept that original one - great Antelope, Deer & long range Coyote Rifle/cartridge.
If'n the recoil situation is a concern (and I am recoil shy!) I would definitely recommend the 25/06 Remington.
My middle VarmintSon has an extremely accurate Remington 700 SS-BDL-DBM in 25/06 and he has taken two kinds of Deer and a couple of dandy Buck Antelope with his - all with "one shot".
One of my Elk Hunting partners used his 25/06 Remington Rifle on Elk here in Montana for years - he would heart/lung shoot them and just wait the 6 - 8 seconds for them to topple.
Best of luck to you with whichever you choose.
Long live the 25/06 Remington.

Kinda baffling how he jumped right in with diarrhea of the mouth over what should have been a reasonable discussion. He speaks as though he has some sort of mental impediment.

The 25-06 in a BAR is a sweetheart to shoot, barely any recoil.
Get one, load up some 115gr Nosler Partitions and go kill stuff.

That "goat fhugk" is a Mossberg ATR100 with a Weaver Grand Slam 4.75 fixed mounted with Warne rings.

He wasn't little. .270 at about ten yards did a number on him though. 😁

Didn't read through all of this, but regarding the OP's post. In a BAR, pick whichever you think you'll like, the recoil will be negligible.

In a bolt rifle the 25-06 will be a good bit less noticeable recoil. A 270 when loaded for deer how they are typically loaded is no slouch in the recoil department.

Some might scoff, but loaded in a normal deer load most 270's will bump harder than a 30-06.

Normal standby loadings are to stuff them full with a slow burning powder with 130's. Usually around 60 gr's of 4831.

An old standby 30-06 load for deer is 50-52 gr's IMR 4064 with a 150 gr bullet.

The 270 loaded in that manner will kick somewhat harder than a 30-06 with 52 gr's and a 150 with the same rifle and weight. And definitely way more than a 25-06.

Here's this year's cheapie rifle setup:

TC Dimension in 6.5, Bushnell Engage with illuminated mil reticle. Leupold rings.

Yet, somehow, by some miracle, the freezer will be filled.

Goalie......

Ensure you use the BIGGEST BC bullets you can find in said cartridge. You know just in case you "need" the extra 40 fps or so.........

Makes them more dead!

Unlike him, it doesn't take any of us amassing an alleged high numbers of rifles before yet finding one that will shoot for schitt.
Someday he might.

Or, it's operator error
