I got a great deal, or so I thought, on several thousand Aguila 22s.
I’ve used them in my Ruger and Browning pistols and my S&W 15-22 rifle. They are accurate but constantly jam in everything. They seem to be sticking in all the magazines if filled over 2/3s full. The lead bullets acts like it’s gripping the magazines, metal and plastic.
Anyone have this issue and is there anything I can do other than just half fill the magazines?

They work beautifully in my single shot Martini Target rifle, lol. On a more serious note, I wonder if a judicious application of aerosol dry graphite, or maybe silicone lock lube in your magazines and feed mechanism?

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

I have thought of just using them in my bolt rifles, as the accuracy is fine. I’m reluctant to spray the magazines with anything as they feed CCI and Federal just fine. The lead bullets seem to immediately grab anything they touch.

I'm wondering if the bullet alloy is a little softer than other brands.
I remember it being a problem in the early 80s Mexican .22 ammo.

I've used lots of Aguila Super Extra SV, mostly in bolt actions but sometimes in 10/22's, and had no problems. I find them to be a good budget standard velocity .22 round. They're not as accurate as CCI SV, but they cost quite a bit less, or they did the last time I bought some which was several years ago.

I used them in my SIG 1911 .22 pistol and they would stove pipe alot. Now I use CCI's mini-mags and have no problem. A bit more expensive but reliable.

It is not unusual to have SV ammo of any brand fail to properly operate semi-autos. Lower velocity equals less force to fully retract the slide.

If you stand up one round of Aguila next to almost any other .22 ammo, the Aguila is a tad longer. Plays havoc in many semi-auto .22 firearms.

I've tried them, gave the couple boxes, I had, away to a friend and his kid. Was getting mediocre accuracy in known great shooting rifles. I'd rather use Federal Automatch, or American Eagle. YMMV.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Very accurate in a couple of my rifles (bolt action Anshutz and a CZ), but I found them to be quite dirty eventually having issues with loading and extraction. Both admittedly have tight chambers. Such does not suffice when doing hundreds of rounds in our spring ground squirrel fields. Gave the remaining rounds away.
