Since posting full copies may scratch some people the wrong way, here are a couple of links to publicly posted materials. I always LOVED Ross Seyfried's work! How To Build "The Perfect" .45 Auto, from Guns and Ammo Magazine June 1990;The Perfect 45 AutoWorlds Ultimate Revolver, from Guns & Ammo Magazine May 1992. His custom Ruger Bisley in .475 Linebaugh that, if I remember right, he went on to use to take the first African Cape Buffalo ever by handgun. World's Ultimate Revolver

Some of my favorites. I've been fortunate enough to handle each of those handguns.
Ross used a John Linebaugh converted five-shot Seville in .45 Colt to take the buffalo a few years before the Bowen .475 was built.

Ross sure knew how to market. I still wonder with every auto pistol if it lives up to the standard he described. Even though I’m sure I have never owned a 1911 that would measure up to what he prescribed in this article. Be curious if the long list of copies out now has any that rise to that standard. His writing on N frame Smiths had the same effect. Have never felt the urge to go after the high horsepower revolvers above the 45 long Colt. But they sure made for great material for articles worth reading.
I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

I have both magazines. He taught me so much. One of the best gunwriters in the world to me.

Thanks Pappy, That’s a trip down memory lane. From casting soft nose bullets to 44 Mountain Guns. Good stuff.

As a teenager through the 90’s, I read a lot of those articles and really enjoyed his work. It’ll be very cool to see them again.
Now with even more aplomb

I managed to get rid of that dead video link. It looked like all the other ones in my Notes copy of the list, so I have no idea why it showed up here looking like that. When I click on it in Notes, it opens like the others. Computer voodoo….

There was a piece in Guns and Ammo recently about his long range rifle, Miss America I believe. Enjoyed his work and writing.

Ross is a very good writer.
Not a real member - just an ordinary guy who appreciates being able to hang around and say something once in awhile.

I think I still have my copy of the latter magazine and article- I have read it numerous times over the years and often daydream about that sixgun!

There was a piece in Guns and Ammo recently about his long range rifle, Miss America I believe. Enjoyed his work and writing. In the day Miss America was pretty cutting edge. Shooting the #13 revolver was fun but Ross made sure to put a form fitting leather grip over the mastadon ivory scrimshaw grips. In hind sight that form fitting leather helped keep the front sight out of your forehead and stopped any palm sting from a 420gr bullet leaving a 1400 fps. The lady that scrimshawed the grips was a bit annoyed Ross actually hunted the gun and wanted to "freshen" up the scrimshaw back to pristine condition. Good Times.

I think we all love a good 1911 45 ACP
I only need just one more 1911 45 ACP.
I would like to have one in 9-mm.

Is that Jerry Seinfeld holding that flag painted rifle?
