Here in a canoe country deer numbers are way down so I'm not expecting much, but I'll still be out with my old M70.

Good luck guys! Just getting sandwiches and my pack made up down here at my farm in SE bluff country. Old John Deere 3010 is outside waiting to scoop up a big one hopefully this afternoon. Will be up the shore with my M70/M75/7600 and cribbage board handwerk next week, hope to see some big boys at Buck's contest in town. Anyhow, best of luck!

Had a good opener here in west central MN, (Otter Tail county), we harvested 8 bucks and 1 mature doe, let a whole ton of smaller deer live. Not much shooting though and seemingly fewer hunters out, not sure why.

Heard a lot of mixed reports but the big boys aren’t chasing hard in daylight yet. Some…but not ramped up. Lots of warm temps coming up to keep them nocturnal.
Camp is where you make it.

Old 3010 Deere and her bucket are still waiting for my probably too high of an expectation bluff country buck. They are around, but like Tzone said, they are laying low in the bottoms. Head up to Lutsen deer camp next week. Nothing like grillin on the Weber on the big lake during the gales of November. Watching Cheers and Johnny Carson on DVD with my dad just like when I was 8 and he was 45..now 38 and 75.. MN deer camp has changed my life and wallet, but deer camp up the shore is different all together. Thanks for the luck handwerk, like you said #'s are down. Old Fashions, and the smell of birch burning, yup I'm ready to head up north.

Saw some dead ones in the Fleet Farm parking lot in Winona on Sunday.
