Makes no sense.
The titmice and chickadees will probably be renamed for being sexist.

More stoopid PC schitt Instead of squawfish we're supposed to call them Northern Pikeminnow....how quaint. Instead of the OSU vs. UO Civil War game they are now calling it the Rivalry game.
Keep using the old names.

This subject was brought up on Gutfeld's Thursday night show.
Someone mentioned penguins, and some bleached blonde bimbo guest (not Kat Timpf) said, "Penguins really aren't birds."

Dang, my Holy Grail bird has always been Henslow’s sparrow. Meaning that if I ever ran out of “lifers” ie bird species I had never seen, I could always go looking for Henslow’s sparrows. An obscure, patchily distributed grassland bird breeding mostly in the Midwest. Dunno what it’s gonna be called now. <“sigh”> At least black rails are still gonna be black is suppose, ain’t seen one of them either.

My favorite bird name is the booby.

I seem to remember years ago that the Baltimore Oriole was becoming the Eastern Oriole - is that correct?

I seem to remember years ago that the Baltimore Oriole was becoming the Eastern Oriole - is that correct? Northern Oriole, lumped with the soon-to-be-renamed Bullock’s oriole. Not a bad name for this northernmost Oriole. Baltimore IIRC referred to the orange color associated with a Lord Baltimore in Ireland rather than the city. Incidentally Baltimore was also a coastal city in County Cork, south coast of Ireland hit hard in the 1600’s by Moorish slave raiders, whereupon the settlement was moved upriver to present-day Skibbereen. I rode a bicycle through there in ‘16, was surprised to learn of North African piracy that far north, but apparently they were a major problem at the time.

Rufous: I am an avid "amateur" bird watcher and have been all my life. My stack of "Bird Books" is 11 (eleven!) volumes high. P/C and woke do NOT enter into my "naming" of the birds I have been watching/identifying for the last 75+ years. FJB and all the woke, disgusting, demonrat, corksuckers that follow him.
