I got a family heirloom today, an antique silver and turquoise squash blossom necklace that is at least 46 years old.

I am trying to figure out who to reach out to try and learn more about the piece including how much to insure it for.

Anyone here have experience with handmade silver and turquoise jewelry? Know some to direct me to?

I do know that a lot of the older Navajo Indian elders wear it when I see them here in town (Flagstaff).

The Navajo are known to be silversmiths.

Maybe do a Google search -you might find a silversmith up here that has stuff displayed to get a value.

Check eBay to get an idea, there are several silver and turquoise Squash necklaces listed. If it’s signed and can be attributed to a known jewelry maker it would probably be worth more. Just Google turquoise and silver jewelry shops and take your pick to speak to an expert, there’s a lot of them.
