1867-1967, octagon barrel, saddle loop, never fired 30-30. Not sure about the box. What's it worth?

I'm no expert here, but on principle, I hate to see a legitimate question go unanswered.
My take on many of the Commemoratives is that most all are 'past prime'. They do really need their original box, paperwork, hang tag, and whatever... For "collector purposes. Beyond, my view set in context of a Commemorative Collector market largely faded. Add the 'era' factor here, where the poor durability of finish reputation further depreciates their value even if safe queens. If not collectable, the 'best use' as shooter, with poor finish survival wrap!
The positive side of unusual configurations and even more of "handsome gun factor" such as fancy wood more than anything else, accrues more 'value' effect in most instances than whatever to be commemorated. Such as any logo, medallion, such on or set into the stock can even negate the 'pretty wood.'
Part two here isn't about the gun as much as the "investment" of folks seeking valuations. Investment of your time to put up a full five photos the Forum permits. Where pretty in whatever context is a principle factor, those photos can be instrumental in getting the very feedback you desire. "Valuation!"
Just my take Best! John

I’ve watched these (and Browning commemoratives) at auction. Even with the original box, the prices seem underwhelming. The “unfired” moniker is always there but hard, if not impossible, to verify.
To me, unless you have a particular fondness for a particular commemorative, the following doesn’t seem to be there for commemoratives in general. Having said that, I’m a John Wayne fan, so a JW commemorative would be intriguing.

Be very cautious when buying Canadian Centennial 94’s. Many years ago there was a batch that was apparently re-imported from outside the US, maybe Canada? Anyway, they were unfired but had been knocked around some and had import stamps. Not pristine by any measure.
