IN October 1972 I turned 19. I turned 70 last week. The old saying "if I'd of known I was going to live so long I'd of taken better care of myself". My dad dies at 52 and my grandfather (Dad's dad) died at 72. The upside is everyone on my mother's side lived to at least 85. I have 15 years to go !! woohoo !

I saw Tom T Hall in Anchorage Alaska in 1976. He actually put on a good show.

In November 1972, I was 22 years old.
At that time, I had relatives in their 80's and 90's.
I heard oral history from a great uncle* who came from North Carolina to Texas (Houston) by steamboat when he was 8 years old. Then by steam packet up the Trinity river to Palestine, Texas.
Houston was a tent city with mud streets. Palestine had board walks, a railroad, concert halls, bands and a locomotive works that built steam engines!
My maternal grandmother lived to be 100 years old. (1894-1994)

* - died in 1972 at 98 years of age.

P.S. - I turned 73 recently. Yeah! I'm OLD! LOL!

I was 16 years old in '72. Next trip to the liquor store I'll have to look for watermelon wine. Hopefully it will be better than Boone's Farm Apple Wine we was drinkin' in '72!

I would have been 3½. As far as feeling old, I sure do sometimes. I've been a tradesman since high-school and through college, so there are some aches and pains, but I still enjoy playing around like a 30 year old. Just last weekend at an early Thanksgiving with my side of the family, I joined my nephew and his son in throwing around a football. There was a lot of running and jumping involved and I survived without injury.😀 I believe activity like this helps keep us feeling a little younger.

November 72 I was 32 years old, flying EC-121 missions out of Korat. Sometimes it seems like yesterday.

How the hell did we get so old so quickly ?
