A good friend has a 7600 he's thinking of parting ways with.
o. Started out as a rifle, cal unknown, most likely 308. o. Has unmarked 19" barrel except 308 on left side in script no maker/manufacturer. o. Plastic stock and forearm, small chip out of stock left side at receiver. o. Barrel and receiver are Cerakoted? Flat finish except for magazine. o. Will come with base only, barrel has no sights. o. Trigger feels like it has had work done to it. o. The gun came to him like it sits.
He is unsure what to ask, I am unsure what to offer as it is no longer as it came from the factory.
Any guesses as to a fair value between friends. I'm looking for a hunting rifle, not a collector and will need to put rings and a scope on it.
Feel free to reply here or th PM me. Thanks Hutch.

Saying this started out as a rifle implies it's no longer one?

Hard to tell...how would you feel if said rifle turned out to be one worked over by Nathan Chesney of Hillbilly Rifles. Not saying it is...but would you still say $250 or so?

They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Without seeing it in person, its really hard to say...but I agree around $250-300 would be a good start.

Saying this started out as a rifle implies it's no longer one? Probably means as opposed to a carbine?
It might be lonely at the top, but it's a bitch at the bottom.
