Been watching a titanium A bolt 300WSM on gunbroker the last week, never seemed to get many bids, was only at $850 earlier today. Got busy and forgot about it tonight and it only brought $930, I’ve missed some before but this one is really making me sick. I’ve been looking for that exact rifle for a long time.

My bidding strategy is to bid the most I’m willing to pay, then sit back and wait. The worst that can happen, already happened to you. OTOH, I’ve picked up some bargains my way on stuff others just overlooked, or maybe like you, forgot to check.

Same. If it's something you really want then put your max bid in and let the auto bid take over.

If you're just casually interested then maybe play the bidding games.

Why not bid $1500 or whatever it takes and buy the thing and be done with it? You can either get bargains or get exactly what you want but good luck trying for both. You only live once and it's a lot more fun to overpay for something you love than to get a deal on something you don't really want. I have this speech prepared because I deliver it to my wife about once a week. She ain't listening to me neither, obviously.

I am with the others. Bid what you are willing to spend and let it ride. I find it is much cheaper than getting in a bidding war and paying way too much. I was looking at a Winchester 71 and put a bid in and got lucky when nobody put in another bid. Paid way less than I expected. Sometimes you get lucky

Y’all are right, No doubt I messed up. I’ve always been bad about watching them and then deciding exactly what I’ll give at the end. I’ve been buying way too many guns lately and wasn’t prepared to give anything like what those normally bring so I had just been watching and waiting for it to shoot up to 16-1800. I would have stayed in to about $1200, might not have got it anyway.

auto bid is the way to go IMO

Like many others i bid the max of what im willing to pay and let auto bid take over, but your right even if you would have bid $1200 you may very well have been outbid anyway....Good luck...Hb

In the Classifieds right now is a Winchester 92 in 25/20 with 7 boxes of ammo plus dies and reloading supplies for $1875. I thought about buying it and reselling it for $2500 but I won't because that wouldn't be very nice. But idc if you do it. I just had to say something, it was killing me trying to hold that in.
