The Kid got me started shooting hogs with a .17 Rem.....a few more fell to the little gun last week...here's a little sample. I have shot hogs with a variety of cartridges by now and nothing kills them any quicker than the .17 Rem

Ive been shooting hogs with some 30 gr Bergers I stashed ( no longer available) 25 Gr. bergers ( hard to find but out there...) work just as well, and Ive shot hogs with the Hormnady 25 gr Vmax, which is available. Couldnt really tell the difference in performance on any of them.

Stunt shooter... Nice work, Poobs. FC Thanks Joe! I have by now killed over 20 pigs with the .17Rem and I can't say that Ive seen anything kill them better, DRT. Shot placement of course is critical .

I bought a custom 17 Remington T/C Encore barrel years ago for the purpose of shooting coyotes over a call. I never used it for that purpose. Shot plenty of prairie dogs with it but no coyotes.

Just picked up a 14" Contender barrel in 17 Rem, no idea what I'm going to do with it yet, but always good to have options.

Good to see you fighting the good fight with the needle rifle. I mounted a new scope and zeroed mine last month then loaded a winter’s supply of ammo. Won’t be long before it gets worked out on the local varmint population.

Shooting them at the base of the ear? That works best but I’ve killed several with chest shots and it works well that way too. I think Ingwe uses the 25gr Vmax but I’m a 25gr HP guy.

Actually I'm using up a stash of 30 gr Berger HPs,though Ive shot some with Hornady 25 gr HPs and one on this last trip that we called in caught a 25 Vmax. Everything seems to work when you land it in the brain pan.

I stumbled across a box of old 30gr Bergers a while back. Haven’t shot anything with them yet but I do have a few loaded up.

Hey Ingwe, are those Montana pigs? Or do you have to travel to shoot them?
