I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Burris FFII 3x9 with Ballistic Plex reticle.
If Doug is out of them, they aren't hard to find, even here in the classifieds. Currently selling under $150 and easily the best bang for the buck in the scope market.

That’s a nice price. Think I paid $120 a few months ago. Would be tempted to buy another.

I got one on sale about a year ago, just on speculation. When I finally got another rifle it wasn’t something I wanted a 3 - 9 on. Now it looks like that “bargain” Burris is going to end up costing me a couple of grand because I just got tired of looking at a new scope with no rifle…

As a lot of us know, they work great/excellent with standard cartridges. I use them with magnums as well, but sometimes the hash marks do not line up exactly. You may find you need to adjust your zero a bit, but all is good. If you shoot out to 500 yards, they work damn good for some cartridges. I've posted a lot about these scopes in the past and have been using them since '98. Here's a little more, for those that may be interested. I'm only going to post some 400 yard targets, with some rifles I've bought in the last year. One from my buddies grendel he just bought. We had to zero that one in at 200 yards though, because the cartridge has a rainbow trajectory. I'll start with that one in fact: The same buddy just bought a RAR Ranch rifle chambered in 223 and was ringing the steel at 500 yards with this rifle. He kept used the intersection of the thin to heavy part of the reticle for his aiming point. Tagging the 10" steel plate at that distance was like a cake walk: Girlfriends new 243 win: A pre 64 Winchester model 70 270 featherweight: With factory ammo. I have a sneaking suspicion that this rifle is a tack driver. Haven't even developed a load for it though.. These are simple set and forget scopes. They work as advertised. Like what has been said, you may be able to find a stellar deal on one during black friday. They are discontinued and I know that in a couple years you'll play hell trying to find one for less than $200. Worth every penny though, even at that price. My first one cost $175.00 back in '98, so if you guys want to try one, now's the time to buy it!!!

BSA, Why would you need to develop a load for your new .270 that delivers .582 moa at 400 in Humboldt Sandhill hurricane country?....lol....unless Blue Box has been discontinued.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Those scopes are dynamite on a .17 HMR, too, as long as you use the 17gr.VMax bulleted loads. I was making first shot hits at 250 yards on prairie dogs. I love those scopes. Got the rimfire version on several .22 rifles, too (Droptine Rimfire, same reticle).

I picked up a couple of these scopes and have tried one on an 06 fwt. Nothing not to like about the scope IMHO.
