I have a Post 64 Stainless Classic Sporter in .270. It came with a junk scope on some Millett rings and bases. The rings are too high. However, my Burris rings won't 'dovetail' in to the front, and the rear windage screws don't fit it well either. So, it came off. I have come to understand the bases with the rear windage screw is the worst idea anyway so I need a new base and rings.

I settled on two options:

Talley Lightweight Alloy rings that have the bases milled together.

OR

Warne Weaver style base with a Burris Signature Zee Ring

Which would yall go with and what is the screw torque to put bases on the rifle? 20INCH POUNDS?

I prefer Talley's - X-Lows work great with scopes up to 40mm or a bit more. I lap all mine, so never any issues. I've also used a lot of Zee's on M70's, but I prefer the non-signature version, but again, I always lap them.

20 inch lbs on rings, 25 on bases.
