Jon, Buy it. Most likely the Best Buy in the handgun world today. They can be found on sale for $600 if you are VERY lucky. Otherwise expect to pay 650-700 And it's Tisas:)
My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
I have a pair in 9mm and 45 both "Duty". First off the quality exceeds the price. They shoot well out of the box. Keep your eye out for a sale price (Palmetto State is pretty good). I don't think you will be disappointed.
I recently purchased a Tisas 1911 D10 in 10mm Auto.
So far, I have run 200 rounds of 180 gr. MAGTECH Ball, 100 rounds of 175 Gr. Hornady Critical Duty and 60 rounds of Hornady 180 gr. XTP factory loads without a hiccup. One of the G10 grip panels did loosen up during the first range session; easy fix will at the range.
The fit and finish are quite good, the trigger was 4 1/2 pounds out of the box and has smoothed a little since. The only change I see in the near future is replacing the front sight with a Dawson Precision Green Fiber optic.
I have added several Tripp Cobra magazines and they are issue free .
I purchased it on sale from PSA and I am very happy with the purchase.
Prior to this I had handled a few different Tisas pistols and spent some range time with a friend's "Raider" version in 45 ACP and it left me very impressed for a $625.00 out the door 1911.
If I wasn't covered up in 1911's I'd certainly consider another Tisas.
I always thought I wanted a Delta Elite, but when I was finally ready to seriously look for one I began to read more about them and much to my dismay discovered that accuracy seems to be hit and miss (good pun, huh?). Knowing me as well as I do I am also well acquainted with my luck and I knew that no amount of second guessing would keep a lemon from appearing in my hand, so I started looking around. I was considering one of the Philippines made guns, but then I saw one of the on-line dealers selling the Tisas D10 for little more than a song. I bought one and it has been great. I think I got a lot of gun for just a little scratch. Come to think of it, I can't recall reading or hearing a single complaint against the D10.

I am not a fan of bolstering Turkey's economy. They aren't exactly an international friend.
They are popular due to favorable quality/price ratio. I would buy one if I needed 1911.
Yes, what people here refer to as "Global Cabal" tolerates only one nationalistic state (NOT Turkey) in the world. The rest must open arms widely integrate and become part of global socio-ekonomic unity.
I have three Tisas 1911s, two 9mms and a .45. They are quite good, especially for the money involved. I really like the two Stingrays, (9mm and .45), though the Tank Commander 9mm is a lot of fun, too. If I buy any more 1911s, they'll probably be Tisas. Helluva lot of gun for the money.
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.
I have an ed brown, several les baer, a stack of colts, and at least one sprinfield garrison. Calibers range from 38 super, 9mm, to 45 acp.
I also have a couple of Tisas (9mm and 45 acp). Don't forget to look at RIA in that price range too.
I think that the Tisas are great pistols and well made. I like them, they are affordable, shoot to point of aim, and traditional 1911's. What's not to like?
Paid $300.00. It was an unannounced, one day, sale.
That's just a steal, right there.
I think it was back in '93 when the Norinco 1911A1s started showing up in my neck of the woods. I was leary because I didn't think I'd be getting much for $210, but I forked it over and took one home. That pistol never skipped a beat. I could load a magazine with seven fired cases and cycle them through it time after time after time. It wasn't the most accurate, but it was as much fun as a barrel full of bare titties. The downside, other than the general looseness, was the rough finish and machine work...but still very much worth the money.
In 2023 dollars, that Tisas you got was even cheaper than the Norincos were back in '93 and I'd venture to say a far, far better pistol.
As far as COO goes, I can't think of many countries in the world I can enthusiastically endorse. We even get stabbed in the back by our domestic manufacturers here in the USA from time to time.

I am thinking a 45 acp. I am seeing new black prices from 510 to 536 (with rail) and a SS as new with rail for 475. All plus shipping. All "Duty" models. Good to go?

Those are fair prices, I've seen better and worse. I avoid the railed pistols, it's too damned hard to find a good holster for them, but that's up to you. I have one railed pistol, I still haven't found a decent holster I like, for it. It's not a bad pistol, but I think I'd rather have one without the rail.

I’ve got it’s twin. Works flawlessly and an outstanding value for the money. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Tisa 1911.

For a carry gun, I can take a rail or leave it, since I consider a tactical light to be strictly a home defense gun accessory, i.e., I never carry a handgun with a tactical light, nor do I have a tactical light with me when I carry. It goes on the gun only when I stick it in my night stand before going to bed. That being the case, I could easily carry one without a rail, and leave one in my night stand that remains equipped with a tactical light.
