Not a spider expert here, but it looks to be an orb weaver of some type (a kind that spins big webs).
Definitely not a jumping or wolf spider (the kind that run around and jump on their prey).

That is most likely Neoscona Crucifera (Spotted Orbweaver.) Completely harmless (to you), eats bugs. The species has a large range of colors. Let it be, and watch it feast. Very beneficial species.
IF it has(and I don't see that it does in the picture) two little nubs/horns/protrusions on the upper top half of its abdomen, it would most likely be a cat-faced spider, but if those aren't present, it is the other.

Whatever you said...everyone knows you are a lying jerk. That's a bold assertion. Point out where you think I lied. Well?

That's the kind of spider that builds webs across trails at face-level just as small game season is starting.

Looks like a temporary spider to me. Is that related to the not-long-for-this-world spider?

Around my house they build their webs on the posts beside the front porch steps just a tiny bit higher than my wife’s head but low enough to catch me. 🕷️🕸️
