Question for you deer biologists…
I’ve been deer hunting for almost 50 years and never seen this behavior before. A doe ambled across a field yesterday morning and was acting strange. While she was walking she was shaking her head and her ears were flopping. She stopped and stared at my pop-up blind with her ears laid back. She then continued on but kept shaking her head and her ears flopping. I though that was strange, never seen one do that before.
Fast forward to late evening, she came back by and still doing the same thing, shaking her head with her ears just flopping around.
We haven’t had any notices from the NCWC about any diseases here in our county but something was going on with her. Anyone seen this behavior before?

Well, I'm not a biologist but if the deer was otherwise healthy-looking, it's likely ticks/mites or a fungal infection in the ears.

The pooch doesn't like to hold still for the drops from the little white bottle, good luck getting her to cooperate.

The last time that bear ate a lawyer he had the runs for 33 days!

CWD warnings in Western NC. Required to drop off the heads here in Ashe County. Confirmed cases in Wilkes.
