Like any Doc, some are very good, others to be avoided.

Ask your local folks who they use and why.

Otherwise, it's like asking if rifles are any good for deer. laugh

I had one experience with one. The “practice” had meetings where they try to sell the product to family members. It was a hard sell making patients feel like they owed them something. A good medical provider doesn’t need to sell its services so I stopped. Didn’t feel any difference before or after I stopped. I think I lasted 6 months.

I use one regularly for simple maintenance to save pain. I’m very firm in my thought that chiropractic works as it does for me though like everything your experience may be different than mine. I’m also convinced that it is safe. Only my experience FWIW to you.

After years of seeing chiropractors, and with no knowledge of your particular medical issues, my advice is that your money is much better spent on a shiatsu (deep tissue massage) specialist. Perhaps even an acupuncturist.

My experience, as well. Lasted 3 visits, I think, but i did get my $ back. That being said, I know people it has worked for. Give it a try, & see how you feel.

In the end, I went to an acupuncturinst, & he's fixed me for every single thing for which I've seen him. Same advice: try it for yourself, & see whether it works for you.

If you can find a good one.....
Had a totally screwed up back years ago.
A friend recommended the guy I went to see.
It took awhile . But he got me straightened up.
Showed me what to do .. stretching exercises...
To avoid needing him in the future..
I kept going for quite awhile after for adjustments.
Once a month I'd go.
Worth every penny.

I go to one of my former students. He is not at all pushy. I get a "hitch" in my shoulder/neck that he gets to release.

Scam holistic 'medicine' , same as acupuncture, or cupping. Zero credible evidence that it really offers any medical improvement. AND quite a bit of credible evidence that it is detrimental for your bone and joint health.

Go to a reputable orthopedics doctor or medical center that specializes in the specific area you want looked at.

And they will prescribe drugs.

Painkillers are probably cheaper and definitely less addictive. 😉

I’ve been told NO to chiropractors by every doctor I’ve trusted.fwiw

But unlike any doc they are not doctors.

Some are absolute quacks. Some do good work non cure all of the things that they claim that they can. Many get rich on that part of their work.

Those that are well-prepared through application of science and principled practice are excellent - producing great results for lots of patients. Those are the same ones who will send you on to a medical doctor or elsewhere when they know they cannot successfully treat your problem(s).

Then, there are some disciples of "the one truth", and charlatans, and lazy money-grabbers, and others - all hardly worth seeing.

Many of such differences often are determined by where they studied. Mixed bag - do your research.

Seems to be getting that way more and more.

I read a sign some time back so this probably isn’t a full quote but it gives the gist.

If you go to your doctor and he doesn’t ask you about your sleep, nutrition, sex life, family life, job satisfaction (etc) and only prescribes you drugs you are actually going to a drug dealer.

I was sure thankful for my chiropractor a couple of weeks ago.
I had a rib head popped out and he worked me on and got it back in place. Wonderful relief.
